I think my first mistake was I went in to confident. Those of you that know me, know that I am confident in my poker ability as it is. Now add that with my first cash at this tournament was last wednesday and I didn’t feel there was anyone real impressive. So I am going to take my seat so we can start this thing on up and I found my seat at the exact place I had the first tournament, table 11 seat 1. My first bad hand was a small bad beat, I am in a middle postition with 77 the small blind called. The flop came 8 clubs 4 diamonds 2 clubs. He checked I bet out 250 into a 450 pot. He called. The turn brought a 9 diamonds. Another over card was not something I wanted to see. I still thought he was on a draw, especially since he checked again. I bet 300 he called pretty fast which put up red flags for me. I haven’t seen a single hand so I don’t know what the ment yet. The river came 2 hearts. He checked and i checked behind him, he flipped over Q-2 for trips on the river. Ouch! The big hand that hit me was this man raised from the the one before the button to about 3 times the big blind. I looked down at Q-J of clubs. I called and the flop came Q high rainbow flop. I checked he bet 300 and I raised to 1000. He tought for a second and called. The turn came A, this is my bad play. “I Check” he goes all-in real real fast. I thought about it and mucked. I was down to about 700 in chips now. I was very happy with with my patience after that. I waited, and waited, and waited. I finally got dealt A-K. The same guy who took the big pot off me raised to 500. I went al-in for an additional 200 he called with 9′s and i hit both an A and K on the flop. I doubled up. I went back into my tight, real tight style and it payed off once again when i looked down at Q’s. I was first in the pot and raised to 1000. The player to the left called the flop came J, 9, 2 i went all-in for my remaining 800 or so and he called with A-J. He never improved and I doubled up again. I was now at bout 3700 in chips and was actually back in it. The average chip stake was about 5000 or so but i didn’t care. I started playing good and taking some pot. I even through in a big bluff for all my chips. I found myself at around 10,000 in chips. I have no idea where it all went, I looked at the Boston game, and next thing i know i was down to 7,000. I looked down at A-J and raised to 3000. The big blind called. Where I played this bad at was I think I made up my mind that I was going to push no matter what the flop came with my remaining 4000. The flop came K, 9, 8 with two heart. He checked, I went all-in he called. I remember asking do you have a king? He said “I have two”. I needed runner, runner. I din’t catch it and was out in 16th. I was happy with my patience but I played like shit. Excuse my french.

Where to begin…? Tomorrow I have a tournament at The Palace in Leemore that I am super excited for. I played there last Wednesday and had very good success. I had placed 6th and made 132$. I know its no big accomplishment, but it not only was my first cash, it was also the best I have finished in any, outside of a home game, tournament. Also besides that i really felt like all the hard work and preperation I have been puting in to my poker playing is starting to pay off. I love this sport called poker. I love to read about it, I love to watch it, and most of all I just love to play. Its like playing football all through high school and making it to play at college level, then finally puttting on that jersey to your favorite NFL team. You have worked hard and have finally made your goal. Granted I have made my “final goal” or evn came to a “final goal” but i am making strives in the right direction. I For now i will take it one tournament at a time. But I am going to say I can’t wait to progress even more. I am hooked!
